Project Summary
Working with general contractor Walsh Bros., Flagship installed tapered insulation and a 25,000 sq. ft. fully-adhered EPDM single-ply membrane commercial roofing system on this new construction project. This entailed making the roofing system watertight around hundreds of roof penetrations and fabricating and installing over nine tons of sheet copper to fit the roof’s architectural overhang.

Project Description
The successful installation of a commercial roofing system on this new construction project required the system to be made watertight around the structure’s many hundred of roof penetrations. This meant that the commercial roofing material used would need to be easily workable, and long lasting. A fully-adhered EDPM single-ply commercial roofing system was the solution.

EDPM is a synthetic rubber compound which can be made in either white or dark colors, and it has become the number one choice for commercial roofing specialists. In fact, there are over half a million EDPM installations in the U.S. alone, more than twenty billion square feet.

Some of the characteristics of EDPM are that it is very resistant to fatigue through temperature cycling, it remains flexible even in low temperatures and it has a high resistance to ultraviolet damage. These combine to make it a low life-cycle cost product.

Flagship fabricated over nine tons of copper flashing to fit over the unique architectural overhang of this new buildings roof.
